Canadian hockey hero Marie-Philip Poulin has added another accomplishment to her extensive resume after she was named the Ilana Kloss Playoff Most Valuable Player with her Montreal Victoire capturing their first Walter Cup on Wednesday night.
The 35-year-old native of Beauceville, Que., recorded two goals and six assists over nine playoff games, tying teammate Abby Roque for the most points in the PWHL playoffs.
Poulin had an assist in the championship clinching Game 4 win. Her highlight of the playoffs came in Game 2 of Montreal’s semifinal series against the defending champion Minnesota Frost, scoring the game-winner in triple overtime to knot the best-of-five series at a game apiece.
Poulin scored nine goals and nine assists over 19 games during the regular season, her third with the Montreal franchise.
The veteran forward has led Team Canada to major victories numerous times on the international stage, winning four world championships and three Olympic gold medals.
Poulin has 59 goals and 69 assists over 98 games with the Canada’s senior national team.
