The PWHL has announced that the Montreal Victoire’s Ann-Renée Desbiens, Boston Fleet’s Aerin Frankel and the Ottawa Charge’s Gwyneth Philips are the three finalists for the Goaltender of the Year award.

The honour is presented to the goaltender “who showcases the most outstanding ability at the position throughout the regular season.”

Desbiens, who is the reigning PWHL Goaltender of the Year, led all goaltenders in the regular season in save percentage (.955), goals-against average (1.11) and wins (19) to lead the Victoire to a first-place finish in the PWHL standings in the regular season.

The 32-year-old is fresh off backstopping the Victoire to its first Walter Cup in franchise history on Wednesday night, picking up a 4-0 win in Game 4 over the Ottawa Charge.

Frankel, 26, finished second behind Desbiens in save percentage (.953) and GAA (1.17) while also picking up 19 wins as the Fleet ended the regular season second in the league.

Philips was the PWHL’s busiest goalie in 2025, appearing in a league-high 28 games (1643:15 total minutes). She went 16-11-1 with a .931 save percentage and 2.12 GAA to help Ottawa secure the fourth and final playoff spot.

In the postseason, she backstopped the Charge to the Walter Cup finals for the second straight year before failing in four games to Montreal.
