Teammates Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni were involved in a fight at training for the second time in two days, Real Madrid confirmed to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Mario Cortegana and Guillermo Rai.
Thursday’s incident saw Valverde taken to hospital with a head injury.
The trio report Tchouameni took umbrage with a hard tackle from Valverde and their disagreement spilled over from the pitch into the dressing room where it got physical. It was then that Valverde slipped and struck his head.
The team intends to mete out discipline over the altercation, but it’s unclear as of right now what that might look like.
The Athletic notes that the two incidents, which come in the wake of Antonio Rudiger’s heated argument with a teammate last month and Kylian Mbappe’s altercation with a staff member on Apr. 24, raised the ire of general manager Jose Angel Sanchez with the latest edition of El Clasico set for Sunday.
Barcelona will claim the La Liga title should they avoid a loss at Camp Nou.
