Canada women beat Poland for third win of the week in Volleyball Nations League play

BANGKOK — Canada’s women’s volleyball team closed out a strong week with a 3-2 (25-23, 21-25, 25-16, 11-25, 15-13) win over Poland on Sunday in Volleyball Nations League play.

It was the third win in four games for the Canadians, who also defeated the Netherlands and Bulgaria.

Canada’s only loss on the week was against Thailand on Saturday.

Overall, Canada has five wins and 15 points, good for sixth in the VNL standings.

Kiera Van Ryk led Canada with 26 points (20 kills, two blocks and four aces).

Team captain Emily Maglio had 13 points (six attack points, six blocks and one ace).
