The Edmonton Oilers have acquired goaltender Devon Levi and a 2028 seventh-round pick from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for a 2028 third-round selection.
Levi, 24, went 23-20-9 with the AHL’s Rochester Americans last season with a .904 save percentage and 2.83 goals-against average.
He then went 1-2 in the playoffs with a 2.71 GAA and .919 save percentage, before his team lost in the first round of the Calder Cup playoffs.
The 6-foot netminder is entering the final season of a two-year, $1.625 million contract that carries a cap hit of $812,000. He is scheduled to become a restricted free agent at the end of the 2026-27 campaign.
Drafted 212th overall by the Florida Panthers in 2020, Levi was acquired by the Sabres, along with a draft pick, in exchange for forward Sam Reinhart in July of 2021.
He has a career 17-17-2 record with the Sabres.
The Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Que., native represented Canada at the 2023 World Hockey Championship, taking home a gold medal. He also represented his country at the 2021 World Juniors, winning silver.
