The Don Callis Family (Andrade El Idolo, NJPW World Television Champion “The Alpha” Konosuke Takeshita and “Dunkzilla” Mark Davis) (w/ Don Callis and “The Murderhawk Monster” Lance Archer) vs. Darby Allin, ROH World Champion Bandido and AEW National Champion “Jungle” Jack Perry

Andrade El Idolo finds himself in a bit of a bind right now. Since returning to AEW, he’s been red hot. He’s lost only two matches in all of 2026 - a defeat to “Hangman” Adam Page and a loss to Yota Tsuji in an IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship match. This year, he holds wins over Gabe Kidd, Swerve Strickland and Kenny Omega among others. Andrade is gunning for the AEW World Championship, but he currently finds himself doing the bidding of the champion.

After Darby Allin made his public challenge to champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman for his title, a plan formulated in MJF’s devious mind. Friedman, who is defending the AEW World Championship at Sunday’s Dynasty pay-per-view in Vancouver against former champion Omega, conceded to a title match with Allin on one condition: Allin must beat a handpicked member of the Don Callis Family, with MJF having made a financial arrangement with Callis, in Vancouver. That person is none other than Andrade himself. While he’s obviously not thrilled with the deal, money is money and Andrade is game for the match.

Before then, he will team with stablemates Mark Davis and Konosuke Takeshita to take on the team of Allin, Bandido and Jack Perry on Wednesday night in Edmonton. Andrade teamed with Davis to defeat the Rascalz duo of Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz this past Thursday night on Collision. Takeshita, meanwhile, is coming off of a 15-minute time limit draw at New Japan’s Sakura Genesis against Shota Umino in title match for his NJPW TV Championship earlier this week in Tokyo.

On the other side of the ring, Bandido steps in as a last-minute replacement for his tag partner Brody King, who is out of action for a personal matter. Though Allin’s main concern is with Sunday’s match, he probably wouldn’t mind getting his hands on Davis. On the March 25 edition of Dynamite, Allin defeated Rush in a hard-hitting main event. After the match as Allin was making his way to the back, he sat for a moment on the ramp to catch his breath. While seated, Davis emerged from the back and gut-wrenched him into a Close Your Eyes and Count to F--- on the concrete to commence a post-match beatdown by the Family. Allin certainly hasn’t forgotten about that.

With both sides out to prove a point, which of these three men will see their hands raised in Edmonton?

TBS Championship match: Willow Nightingale (c) (w/ Harley Cameron) vs. Queen Aminata

Willow Nightingale might no longer be a double champion after the Babes of Wrath (Nightingale and Harley Cameron) lost the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships to Divine Dominion (Megan Bayne and Lena Kross) at last month’s Revolution pay-per-view, but she’s still the TBS Champion and a fighting one at that. Her open challenge for the title has been answered by the returning Queen Aminata. It’s been a long road back for the Guinea-born competitor and she wants to mark her comeback with some gold.

The last time Aminata was in an AEW ring was all the way back on the Oct. 29 edition of Dynamite. She and Jamie Hayter fell to the Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart and Skye Blue) in an AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship Tournament match. At that point, a nagging neck injury became too severe to compete and she was sidelined. After months of rehab with chiropractors and massage therapists, Aminata finally has the go-ahead to return to action.

Nightingale became TBS Champion by defeating Mercedes Mone on the Dec. 31 edition of Dynamite. Since then, she’s defended her title on six occasions. Most recently, she defeated former AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida, who was also making her return from a lengthy absence, on last Thursday’s Collision from Winnipeg. Nightingale also holds wins over Kross, CMLL Women’s World Champion Persephone and former champion Hart during her reign.

Nightingale and Aminata have shared a ring on a number of occasions, both as opponents and partners. Their most recent encounter came on the Oct. 22 Dynamite when the team of Aminata and Hayter won a four-way tag match over the Babes of Wrath, the Sisters of Sin and Megabad (Bayne and Penelope Ford). But Wednesday night’s match will only be their second-ever singles bout and first in over two years. The two women are 1-1 in the previous singles matches.

Can Nightingale keep her reign going or will Aminata leave Edmonton with gold around her waist?

Chris Jericho addresses his return

Last week’s Dynamite was set to open with Tony Schiavone moderating a contract signing for the AEW World Championship match at Dynasty between MJF and Kenny Omega. With Schiavone already in the ring, the familiar strains of “Judas” hit and out came Chris Jericho in his hometown of Winnipeg. It was his first appearance in an AEW ring in over a year.

Soaking in the cheers from his fellow Winnipeggers, Jericho didn’t have much to say. He took the mic and simply said, “Winnipeg, AEW...I’m home” before heading to the back. It was short and sweet, but didn’t answer any questions.

On Wednesday night, Jericho will speak again and this time he’s expected to talk about his absence, the rumours swirling around it and why he’s back in the company.

Just what is on the mind of the inaugural AEW World Champion?

We will hear from Kenny Omega

Fresh off of a victory in his hometown on last week’s Dynamite in trios action, we will hear from “The Cleaner” before Kenny Omega takes on MJF in an AEW World Championship match in Vancouver on Sunday night. Last week, Omega teamed with Brody King and Jack Perry to defeat The Demand (Ricochet, Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun). Omega won the match for his team by putting Ricochet away with a One-Winged Angel.

Looking to win his first world title since 2021, Omega will take this final opportunity to lay it all on the line for MJF. With the mind games between the two ongoing for weeks, does Omega have one more way to get one over on the AEW World Champion?
