A native of Saginaw, MI, Williams is arguably the greatest women’s tennis player of all-time. Williams is the holder of 73 career titles including seven Australian Open crowns, three titles at Roland-Garros, seven Wimbledon championship and six at the US Open. A four-time Olympic gold medalist, Williams is the only player to complete a Golden Slam in both singles and doubles competition.
A minority owner of WNBA expansion team, the Toronto Tempo, Williams last competed at the 2022 US Open where she fell to Australia’s Ajla Tomljanović in the third round.
This past July, Williams’s elder sister, 45-year-old Venus Williams, became the oldest woman to win a tour-level match since Martina Navratilova in 2004 when she beat Peyton Stearns at the DC Open.
