There is a change on the touchline for the defending MLS Cup champions.
Inter Miami announced the departure of manager Javier Mascherano on Tuesday.

“Javier Mascherano has decided to bring his tenure as Head Coach to an end,“ the team said in a statement. ”A champion who, together with his staff, will always be part of the Inter Miami family and forever linked to our first star."
A 41-year-old native of San Lorenzo, Argentina, the Herons marked Mascherano’s foray into senior management. His previous head coaching experience came with Argentina youth sides. He was appointed to the Inter job in the fall of 2024.
Mascherano ends his tenure with a record of 37-16-14 over two seasons.
One of the finest midfielders of his generation, Mascherano was a product of the River Plate academy and played for 17 senior seasons at the likes of Corinthians, West Ham, Liverpool and Barcelona where he won five La Liga titles, five Copas del Rey and two Champions League titles.
Internationally, Mascherano was capped 148 times by Argentina from 2003 to 2018, appearing at four World Cups and five Copas America.
Inter currently sits third in the Eastern Conference on 12 points after seven matches. The team is next in action on Saturday with a visit to Colorado Rapids.
