New York Rangers forward Vincent Trocheck has hired Pat Brisson and CAA Sports to represent him moving forward, according to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger.
Trocheck was previously represented by Matthews Oates of O2K Sports Management.
Dreger reports Trocheck’s agency switch will fuel more speculation and many teams are interested in landing the 32-year-old centre.
Trocheck was heavily involved in trade rumours ahead of the March deadline, with the Minnesota Wild and Detroit Red Wings believed to be leading the list of suitors. Mollie Walker of the New York Post reported earlier this month that the Toronto Maple Leafs have also checked in under new general manager John Chayka.
The 5-foot-11 centre is entering the fifth season of a seven-year, $39.375 million contract that carries an annual cap hit of $5.625 million. He has a 12-team no-trade list that will shift down to 10 teams on July 1.
Trocheck, who will turn 33 in July, had 16 goals and 53 points in 67 games with the Rangers last season. He also represented the United States at the Olympics, recording three assists en route to winning a gold medal.
The 13-year NHL veteran has split his career between the Florida Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes and Rangers. He has 239 goals and 392 assists for 631 points in 868 career NHL regular-season games.
Trocheck was selected in the third round (No. 64 overall) by the Panthers in the 2011 NHL Draft.
