Toronto Blue Jays reliever Yimi Garcia is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment Wednesday with the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays, it was announced.
The 35-year-old has yet to pitch this season as he works his way back from an elbow injury after having a cleanup procedure in September.
Garcia last appeared in an MLB game on July 2 of last year. He made 22 appearances in 2025, turning in a 3.86 ERA with 25 strikeouts in 21.0 innings pitched.
The 11-year veteran has spent parts of the past four seasons with the Blue Jays. He was dealt to the Seattle Mariners in 2024 and then re-signed with the Jays that off-season and is under contract through 2026.
Toronto enters play Wednesday evening three games under the .500 mark at 29-32.
