The PGA Tour makes its final stop before the start of the Masters this week as the Valero Texas Open tees off from TPC San Antonio’s Oaks Course on Thursday.

93 players have already qualified for the 2026 edition of the Masters, but one more golfer can add their name to the invite list with a win this week as the Texas swing comes to a close.

Gary Woodland earned himself a tee time at Augusta with an emotional victory last week at the Texas Children’s Houston Open, as did Nicolai Hojgaard, Daniel Berger, Jake Knapp, and Matt McCarty, who secured their spots inside the top 50 of the Official World Golf Ranking.

With just one more invite available, players such as Rickie Fowler, Tony Finau, Keith Mitchell, and Michael Thorbjornsen are all in the field this week at the Valero for a final opportunity to compete for a green jacket.

The same goes for Sudarshan Yellamaraju, Mackenzie Hughes, A.J. Ewart, and Adam Svensson, who will look to add their names to the Canadian contingent at Augusta alongside Corey Conners, Nick Taylor, and Mike Weir.

Taylor, of Abbotsford, B.C., is in the field this week in Texas as a final tune-up for the Masters, while Conners, a two-time winner at the Valero, will miss the tournament for the first time since 2017.

Yellamaraju, of Mississauga, Ont., followed up his breakout performance at The Players with a T6 finish last week in Houston as his game continues to trend upwards in his first year on Tour.

He has now made seven of eight cuts to begin the season and came just one stroke shy of posting back-to-back top-five finishes.

Hughes (Dundas, Ont.), Ewart (Coquitlam, B.C.), and Svensson (Surrey, B.C.) all missed the cut at Memorial Park, but will look to rebound quickly with one last chance to qualify for the Masters at stake.

Hughes, a two-time winner on the PGA Tour, has made four career starts at the Masters with his last appearance, a T29 finish, coming in 2023.

Svensson also qualified for the tournament the year and ended with a missed cut in his lone trip to Augusta.

World No. 4 Tommy Fleetwood is also in the field at the Valero, as are Ludvig Aberg, Hideki Matsuyama, Max Homa, and 2025 winner Brian Harman as they gear up for the first major championship of the year next week.
